Jaanu movie review: Somehow slower than '96, even though it's literally a xerox copy.

If you've seen the original movie, '96, then you know exactly what will happen in Jaanu.

This movie is literally an exact, same-to-same remake. Only one scene was added in. No other scene was changed or tweaked, but it makes sense why. They probably did not want to stray from the feeling of the original movie, and they did that well.

Sharwanand played Vijay Sethupathi's role well. He definitely did not disappoint in his role. He kept the shades of shyness, shades of anger, and shades of innocence in his character.

Samantha did justice to her role, but it just wasn't up to the mark. Something about it was just not on par. Trisha played Jaanu so well, and watching Samantha play her role was, in a way, weird. She played it well, but it just wasn't enough (maybe?).

Maybe it wasn't emotional enough. Trisha managed something that Samantha didn't, or maybe couldn't.

In the end, the movie did attempt to pull the various depths of the original movie, and should be applauded for that.
