Andhadhun movie review

Andhadhun was one of the first few Hindi movies I've seen in a WHILE, and I definitely wasn't used to the style of Hindi movies when I was watching this.

The first half introduced interesting characters with interesting arcs and backstories, making me think that the second half would bring more interesting character arcs (or at least something like that), but we only got some lackluster characters that were only meant to bring some humor to the film, like the doctor and his little gang.

I also didn't like how the story didn't close off properly in the legal aspect. I get that it wasn't just about how Akash was stuck in a police case, but stuck with the people in the case, but still. It's like the police kinda just forgot about the case. I'm glad that they had that little ending part with Sophie, even though it just seemed like a way of bringing her back into the story. It was different than how they normally bring back 'lost' characters because she ended up being an important part of the explanation at the end rather than showing up just for the sake of her being in screen.

What irritated me about the end was that he lied about taking Simmi's eyes. I thought he didn't want to see the world through a bad person's eyes literally until he knocked the can out of the way. I thought that he was becoming a better person, instead of that bad-good guy he was earlier, but he just went back to his old ways, which are the ways that brought him trouble.

Now obviously, I wouldn't want the story to be any different even though it irritated me.

The most innocent character in the whole movie, besides Sophie, was Tabu's husband. All he wanted to do was surprise his wife. And then he got shot sadly.

It might've sounded like I didn't like the movie, but I did like it.
